Summer Playground Program - Intermediate School

Grades K - 6

Staff will lead students through a variety of organized games and activities designed to encourage teamwork and skill-building. We provide a structured, safe environment where kids can explore their interests, try new activities, and build friendships. With active games, special event days, and art activities, there’s something for everyone! Daily attendance is optional, registration is required. Don’t forget to bring water and sunscreen each day!

Orono Intermediate School Field 9
685 Old Crystal Bay Rd N., Long Lake, MN 

• We will meet at this location daily for drop-off and pick up. We may also use other locations around the Intermediate School for certain activities. 
• Program Schedule: The program dates, times, and core format (organized games and activities) will remain the same.
• Inclement Weather: Our inclement weather location will remain at the Orono Middle School Gym. Additional details will be sent via email prior to the first day of the program on June 15.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up

• Parking: All drop-offs and pick-ups will take place in Lot F near the Intermediate School Tennis Courts.
• Drop-off (1:00 PM) & Pick-up (4:00 PM): Staff will be waiting at the fence near the tennis courts to check participants in and out of the program.
• Late Arrivals/Early Pick-ups: Please park and walk your child to the group to ensure a staff member checks them in when they arrive.  If you arrive at the field and the group is not present, you can call the Community Education office at 952-449-8350 for assistance connecting your student with the group. 
• Biking/Walking: Due to school district safety procedures, participants will not be allowed to bike or walk to and from the program.
• Bus Transportation: Students will now have the opportunity to ride a bus at the end of the playground program to one of our designated bus stops.  Register for bus transportation by the week at oronocommunityed.com.

Lunch Logistics

• If your child is enrolled in a morning class on the Orono Schools campus and was originally scheduled to ride the bus to either our Holbrook Park site or our Rainbow park site, they will now stay on campus to eat with our supervised Lunch Bunch program at no extra cost. 
• Students will still need to pack a lunch. Designated nut-free lunch tables will be available.
