ACT College Examination Preparatory CourseCollege PlanningAdvantage Educational Programs gives students the option of preparing for the ACT exam in two different ways: in-person or online. Both courses are designed for students who want to maximize their ACT exam score, as well as those who feel uneasy about their test-taking skills, or those who have taken the exam and aren’t satisfied with their results. The course includes diagnostic testing, instruction in time management, overcoming test anxiety, science reasoning, English strategies and review, essay writing, reading comprehension, math strategies, and review. Please bring notebook paper, pencils, calculator and a small 3-ring binder or folder to class. Students enrolled in these classes not only benefit from personal instruction provided by our experienced instructors, but also have free access to our online course. The live virtual ACT prep course is the same as the in-person ACT course, but from the comfort of your own home. Our instructors teach live via Zoom and are available to answer questions if needed. You will need an internet connection and a computer/tablet/smart phone. Instruction for all areas tested will be provided with focal points on diagnostic testing, science reasoning, math review and strategies, reading comprehension improvement, English strategies, writing essays, overcoming test anxiety and time management. This session blends gentle yoga for adults with baby-friendly movement, and bonding activities that nurture both body and heart. February 3rd Speaker - In this Baby Speaker Series session, caregivers will explore the joy and benefits of creating art with babies. Guest speaker Gaby Engler, an ECFE mom and owner of The Art Room MN, will share why early art experiences matter for development and connection, and guide caregivers and babies through a simple, sensory-friendly art activity. March 3rd Speaker - A pediatric dentist will be joining us to share practical, realistic tips and tricks for caring for your baby’s teeth and oral health, starting from the very beginning. We’ll talk about what’s developmentally appropriate, how to make tooth care feel less stressful, and answer common questions families have about brushing, teething, pacifiers, and first dental visits. CPR, First Aid & AEDHealth & WellnessThis blended learning (online learning and in-person skills) session will help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies. Successful participants will receive a two-year Red Cross certificate for Adult and Pediatric (infant and child) CPR, First Aid and AED. Register at least 10 days prior to the in-person skills date, as time is needed to complete the online learning portion PRIOR to testing in person for the skills. This will allow you the time to complete lessons at your own pace. You will need to provide the instructor with proof of online completion in order to take part in the skills testing. Additional details regarding online learning session will be sent via email. A personal email address is required to receive class content.
