Qué Tal Spanish Exploradores

Join us for a brand-new language adventure with Qué Tal! Running all school year on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, this before-school Spanish immersion program brings language and culture to life. 

This year, Spanish class is a treasure hunt. Qué Tal Exploradores turns language learning into an adventure! Students step into the role of explorers and use Spanish, from day one, to complete missions, solve problems, and navigate Spanish-speaking countries in search of a hidden treasure. Students learn Spanish the way kids learn best—by using it with purpose. Instead of memorizing lists, they speak, listen, and collaborate to solve challenges, building real communication skills and confidence.

The journey unfolds in six units across the school year:

• Preparing for the Trip
• Explorer Training
• Navigating the Map
• Solving the Ecosystem Problem
• Finding the Treasure
• End-of-Year Review Challenge, tying the whole journey together

Each unit blends targeted vocabulary, phrases, and songs with hands-on activities, cultural experiences,and collaborative problem-solving. Students are grouped by grade and proficiency, so every child is challenged at the right level. 

What families can expect:

• Experienced team: Four consistent, dedicated Spanish teachers plus an on-site administrator every class day
• Open to everyone: No prior Spanish needed. Beginners are welcome and thrive
• You stay in the loop: Monthly family updates and student progress reports
• Convenient schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:10-8:55 AM at Orono Elementary, before the school day begins 

Qué Tal Language Program is a Minnesota nonprofit that has taught Spanish immersion to elementary students for years across the west metro. Our mission is simple: kids learn best when they are having too much fun to notice how much they are learning

Program fees are non-refundable once the program begins. Exceptions may be made for documented medical withdrawal or family relocation out of district.
