Discovery Kids - Child CareOrono Early Learning's Discovery Kids program is Full-Day Educationally Focused Childcare. Discovery Kids is DHS licensed, NAEYC accredited, and is 4-Star Parent Aware rated. Every Discovery Kids classroom utilizes the state-approved Creative Curriculum, which honors creativity and respects the role that teachers play in making learning exciting and relevant for every child. Discovery Kids is designed for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Drama CampPerforming ArtsExplore the world of drama through the Orono High School Theater department as you build skills in acting, technical theater, and more. Younger students will get the opportunity to meet other students involved with theater and practice basic skills as well as receive tips on auditioning for school shows. Older students will have the opportunity to further advance their theater knowledge and skills and even lead or direct their peers for the final performance at the end of the week!Summer 2026 -

WaitlistDriver's EducationDriver's EducationThis class fulfills the 30 hours of classroom driver’s training required by the State of Minnesota. Class will be taught in-person. After completing this course, students must sign up with a commercial driving school and receive a blue card, which they will need before taking their permit test. After passing the permit test, they must take 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction at a cost of approximately $398. Missed classes must be made up in another session. Family Color DashCommunity EventsGet ready for a fun-filled event, the whole family will love! The Family Color Dash is a vibrant experience where you can run, walk, or dash through bursts of bright color. Join us on August 6 at the Orono Discovery Center, with check-in starting at 5:30 PM and the run kicking off at 6 PM. All pre-registered participants will receive a swag bag including an official event t-shirt! After the dash, stick around to enjoy music from DJ Edd, food, games and sweet treats. Whether you're racing to the finish line or just in it for the fun, this event is perfect for all ages. Sign up today and get ready to dash in color! Early registration price: $25/person Registration price after June 1: $30/person To guarantee a swag bag including a t-shirt for the dash, please register online prior to Wednesday, July 22. Additional Items: Check-in will take place in the back of the Orono Discovery Center on August 6th. (Early check-in will be available on Wednesday, August 5th from 1 - 3PM in the Community Ed office located at the Education Link). Please add t-shirt size during registration. All families must have at least one adult (18+) in attendance. This is a family event, please do not drop off unattended children. Please note, this event will take place on a grass field NOT on a paved surface. Participants will be covered in colored powder during this event. All powder used is environmentally friendly. We recommend keeping towels in your vehicle for after the event to help with clean up. Scholarships may be available upon request. Fitness Punch CardFitness & RecreationPurchase a Fitness Punch Card and drop into any adult fitness class on your time and your schedule. This is the perfect option if you cannot commit to a full class or want to try multiple different types of classes. Punch cards are valid for 6 months. Purchase another card if you run out of punches! Punch cards are kept in the Activities Center Fitness Room (30 & 31). The punch card is NOT VALID for pickleball classes, aquatics programs, virtual classes, private lessons or open gyms. Senior and Activities Center Membership discounts can not be applied toward a Punch Card purchase.
