  • Beginner Mah Jongg

    Have your friends and family been talking about Mah Jongg, but you don't know how to play? Join the "Mah Jongg Mavens" at Calvin Church for a fun, 4-session beginner's course where you’ll master the official rules, get hands-on gameplay experience, and learn winning strategies. We ask that participants commit to all four sessions so the group can learn at the same pace, and by the end of the course, everyone will receive a 2026 National Mah Jongg League Card to take home. Come enjoy some snacks, have fun, and learn this exciting, social game!
  • Beginner Stained Glass Window

    Create a beautiful stained glass window approximately 8” x 10” in size. This class is for both beginner and experienced stained glass participants! The copper foil technique will be taught from cutting to assembly. The first night, you'll choose a pattern and discuss colors of glass, equipment, and layout. The other sessions will focus on assembling your stained glass window. Glass and materials are purchased directly from the instructor at class - approximately $65. Tool kits are provided. Please bring safety glasses to use while cutting and grinding glass. This class includes one free Saturday morning Open Studio visit. Call to register participants ages 14-17 (must attend with an enrolled adult).

    Beyond the "Doh!" Next Level Loaves

    Ready to take your sourdough beyond the basic loaf? Designed for those who already know the fundamentals, this workshop builds on the basics to make baking more flexible, creative, and fun. You’ll learn about flavor inclusions, dough lamination, advanced shaping, troubleshooting, and clever ways to use discard, all with an emphasis on real-life baking rather than perfection. Enjoy live demos and plenty of samples so you can leave ready to confidently experiment at home. (Prerequisite: Taking the "Doh!" out of Sourdough or comfort baking a basic loaf). What to bring: Large mixing bowl Tea towel/kitchen towel Spatula Kitchen scale (if you have one) Note: For best results, sourdough is typically baked in a Dutch oven. The instructor will share alternative baking options during the workshop, but if you’ve been thinking about getting (or borrowing) one, now’s a great time! A minimum 4–5 qt size is ideal. Children ages 14 years or older may enroll with an enrolled adult. The class duration may vary slightly based on group size and discussion, please allow for a little extra time at the end.

  • CALM Conversations: Conversations on Access to Lethal Means

    The CALM Conversations workshop is designed to provide friends, family, and others with information on how to recognize and respond to suicide risk, with an additional focus on increasing lethal means safety – especially concerning firearms. Participants learn how to talk with someone who might be having these thoughts in a collaborative, non-judgmental, and supportive manner. CALM Conversations is divided into four sections. Section 1: Learn basic facts and misconceptions about suicide, common risk factors and warning signs, and the importance of means safety in keeping at-risk individuals safe.Section 2: Learn to ask about mood and suicide, with opportunities to practice asking questions in their own words.Section 3: Focuses on connecting at-risk individuals to both formal and informal sources of support.Section 4: Focuses on discussing lethal means safety in a way that respects the at-risk individual’s rights and autonomy. The goal is making the environment safer for the at-risk individual until their mood state improves.
  • CPR, First Aid & AED

    This blended learning (online learning and in-person skills) session will help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first aid emergencies. Successful participants will receive a two-year Red Cross certificate for Adult and Pediatric (infant and child) CPR, First Aid and AED. Register at least 10 days prior to the in-person skills date, as time is needed to complete the online learning portion PRIOR to testing in person for the skills. This will allow you the time to complete lessons at your own pace. You will need to provide the instructor with proof of online completion in order to take part in the skills testing. Additional details regarding online learning session will be sent via email. A personal email address is required to receive class content.   • Fused Glass Frank-n-Mummy

    Add something delightfully spooky to your fall décor with this beginner-friendly glass fusing workshop! You'll learn essential glass cutting and shaping skills while creating your choice of a festive Mummy or Frankenstein dish. No prior experience is required. Please note there is a $20 supply fee payable to the instructors at the start of class, and due to the kiln firing cycles, finished projects will be ready for pickup on Wednesday, Sept. 30, between 7:00 and 8:30 PM.
  • Fused Glass Holiday Ornaments

    Embellish your tree, gifts, or home with holiday-themed fused glass! Choose from a variety of simple ornament styles (snowmen, trees, snowflakes) to create holiday decor. A $20 material fee, which covers glass and firing for four ornaments, is payable the night of class to the instructors. Each additional ornament will be $5. Please note: Due to the kiln-firing process, your finished ornaments will be ready for pickup the following Wednesday.

    Fused Glass Open Studio

    Fused Glass Open Studio provides time and space to create fused glass projects for intermediate and advanced participants. A facilitator will be on hand for advice and support. Participants are asked to bring their own glass (COE90-preferred). Tools and molds are available to use. It is recommended that participants have taken at least 1-2 fused glass classes before joining Open Studio. A $25 material fee is payable to the instructors at the start of class. Punch cards have 8 punches and are valid for 12 months.
