Getting Comfortable Supporting Grievers: Do's and Don'ts - Virtual Class
Even with the best of intentions, most people struggle to find the right words or deeds to support those they're close to who are grieving a loss. Feeling uncomfortable, or fearing they'll make the person feel worse, they simply do nothing - which adds a sense of abandonment to the grief and leaves the griever struggling even more. This workshop will help people be more comfortable and better able to support the grievers they care about. It is intended for friends, family, or community members who want to learn how to support children, young adults, or adults who have experienced the death of a loved one. This workshop will: Provide an understanding of what grief is and how it manifests. Introduce meaningful steps for supporting someone who is grieving. Inform as to what to say and what to avoid, and suggest actions that are truly helpful. Children ages 14 - 18 years old may register with an adult registration. A Zoom link will be sent prior to the class date. -

Procrastinate no more! No matter what your age, give your loved ones an important gift by creating two legal documents - a Health Care Directive and a Power of Attorney. These documents are vitally important in the event you become incapacitated and cannot make decisions for yourself. A Health Care Directive is a legal document that communicates your health care wishes and allows you to name someone to make health care decisions for you when you cannot speak for yourself. A Power of Attorney allows you to choose someone to handle your finances and property and is effective immediately upon signing. You will prepare both of these documents, so you leave with these important legal plans in place. Leave class with two notarized documents, and give yourself and your loved ones peace of mind. -
