Swim Lessons: Preschool Level 1 - Parent & Child
Preschool Level 1
AGES 3 - 5 YEARS OLD
*A parent/adult MUST accompany the child in the water.
For inexperienced or cautious preschool swimmers.
Course Content: The primary objective of this course is to orient children to the aquatic environment while helping to gain basic aquatic skills. Skills for this level may include: entering and exiting water using ramps, steps or side of pool, blowing bubbles in water, submerging mouth, nose and eyes, retrieving object under water, glides, floats, arm/leg and tredding actions, combining these movements on front and back.
Exit Skills:
- Enter the water independently, travel for 5 yards (walking, "swimming" or moving along gutter), submerge mouth and blow bubbles (3 sec), and safely exit the water.
- While in shallow water, glide on front for 2 body lengths, roll to back and float for 3 seconds, then recover to a vertical position.
